Blog post-Typographic Innovaion

I have learned about historical typographic innovation can help the design be more artistic and special. Typographic innovation is based on the normal type face. However, it changes the design from the normal one to the creative one.

The design here, the words “The runners-up”  is typographic innovation. “The”  and “Up” don’t change, the feeling of the “Runners” relates to the illustration on the back ground, which is the equipment of a band. Therefore, the client would like it due to the type relates to the poster. It is successful.

This is a design of typographic poster. Typographic innovation is using here as well. The designer is using san serif, he/she changes the size and the weight of them like so many cube. It gives people a feeling of cuteness and bauhous. Colours are using as well to catch people’s eyes.

In this design, the type looks like cube and in the middle, some letters have a circle inside. Cute feeling shows here and attractive. The type colour relates well to the background colour. It is using three primary colours on the background. However, the yellow part, it is a little hard to read.

The organizational logic of the design is legibility and relates to the book. Flush left is using as well to show the organization. It is using handwriting font. Size of the main title is the largest, and then the sub title, the size of information is the smallest. All the titles are using bold. The font usage, size and weight pertains to legibility and appropriateness. It is also using tab here. The design of the layout helps communicate the content of the book. Not only the type font but also the feeling of the format.

The is a design magazine. Therefore, the contents relates to the magazine. The contents only on the right side of the page. Page numbers show before the content, which are also emphasized by the red colour and bold. Title is using Cap. Font usage is serif, which give reading a feeling of design. It pertains to legibility and appropriateness. The layout is also purely functional. The design of the layout help communicate the content of the book. The font usage and illustration on the left relates to the design magazine.

The gird is also looking good here. Font usage is Serif, the weight of the title is using bold, and the detail is using regular. Main titles are a little bit bigger than the details. There are some more other information on the left. The layout is purely functional and the design of the layout helps communicate the content of the book. It is a book of design, the contents here relates to the content of the book. Empty space balances the whole design.

The design is using 3 columns here to show the contents. It is different from other contents. Font usage is San Serif type face. The main title is using bold. Others are using the regular size. So that the reader can know it right away. The page numbers are following behind the information. It pertains to legibility and appropriateness. Blog entry-Typographic Systems

All the images were being take from a magazine called PRINT.

 Axial System

Information are organized to the left or right of a vertical axis.

Axial System makes the type more organized, clearer when audience read it. Different colour shows different parts of the information.

Bilateral System

Huge title at the top, type in red colour are the sub titles, the rest of the type are the detail.

Bilateral System consists of a single axis with lines of text centred on the axis, so that audience can read it easily and get the title right away.

Dilatational System

Circles dilate from a central point. This photo of type is using Dilatational System, which shows a pretty good looking design. If look at it from the distance, I wouldn’t think it is using type to design.

Radial System

In the image, different colours are using here for the Radial System. The words are organized to extend from a central point of focus like rays. It makes the image more interesting, audiences won’t feel bored when they read it.

Random System

This is using Random System, the elements place randomly, without definite aim.

The elements place in different way, horizontal and vertical. The weight of the types are also different.

This system, designers can do whatever they want, make the design look interesting and professional.

11th ad – 20th ad

I saw this ad in Pape Subway Station.

Target audience: adults, old people and teenagers who take subway.

The ad is about the garbage in the the subway. Nowadays, more and more garbage will be abandoned in anywhere in the subway. For example, on the floor, on the chairs, coffee cup and bottle of water, but not in the garbage bin.

The poster is really simple, it use a cup of coffee lying on the floor with a sentence to tell everyone that it belongs to the garbage bin, not on the floor.

I really like this ad, because it is simple and cute.

I saw this ad on the magazine which is call Fashion Magazine.

Target Audience: Female and some males who like fashion.

This is an ad that propagating the magazine. It is using a lipstick which is combined by the types. Nice illustration, so that people will look at it when they see the ad.

I saw this ad in a magazine as well.

Target Audience: Females who like perfume or who want to buy perfume.

It is an ad about Daisy, a perfume of Marc Jacob. The ad gives people a feeling of spring and fresh. The design of the perfume also gives people a feeling of spring. When people look at the ad, they will imagine that they are in the spring and they will know what’s the feeling of using this perfume.

I would buy it, when I see it.

It is an ad about L’OREAL foundation. It is using a lady on the left and the information on the right. In the middle, the skin colour and the foundation combine together which gives audiences a feeling of how the colour match the skin.

Target Audience: Females, and Males who want to buy a gift for their girl friend or wife.

Pandora is a famous brand of jewelry. It is using a pretty brace lace to show how the product looks. There are some information at the bottom and the logo at the right bottom. On the top of the ad, there is a photo of a pair of lovers, which relates to the promotion the right.

It is an ad about Thomas Sabo, which is also a brand of jewelry.

It is a very simple ad, red background with a dragon necklace.

The logo places at the right bottom with the website.

I really like simple ad, and I had a job before,which was selling Thomas Sabo. Therefore, when I see this ad, I felt familiar and took a photo of it.

It is an ad about Starbucks. The Ad gives people a feeling of happiness. Two people are holding Starbucks in the morning with smile. When the audience see this ad, they will think Starbucks gives people a happy beginning of a day. More information at the bottom.

It is a shampoo ad of Pantene. A blond hair lady in the middle shows how smooth the hair is after using PANTENE. Information shows at the bottom of the ad. It is simple and easy to get the idea of the ad.

Cover Girl Mascara ad comes from Fashion Magazine.

Target audience: Female

The main point is the eyelash, so the ad is using a beautiful lady with long eyelash after using it. People will know when they see it. Lashblast 24HR is using colour red to emphasis it.

I might try it, if I see this Ad.

OLAY ad comes from Fashion Magazine.

Target Audiences: 35+ Females

It is an product for the ladies who over 35. It is using a photos of a famous actress, so that it is more powerful. More information places at the bottom and the right side.

I might buy it for my mom, if I see this ad.
